Infinity & Continuity

Why do I understand infinity?

I have an understanding of infinity. I understand the idea of the real number line which contains several ideas of infinity. Starting from zero it contains the infinit numbers of natural, positive integers and in the other direction infinite negative integers. Furthermore,  between any two numbers on the number line there is also an infinite amount of different real numbers. I understand that.

I have also an understanding of recursive programming to generate an infinite loop in computer programs that can run theoretically infinitely, if no termination condition is defined and the resources required are forever available. The concept of infinity is understood by me.

According to scientists, my whole body and my whole central nervous system consists of a finite number of bodycells and neurons (nerve cells). All neurons have only a finite number of axons and dendrits to route on signals from the receptors to other cells. All neurons can pass only in finite, discrete intervals a signal to other cells.

This means that this very large number of possible logical connection between all neurons providing a larger number of different connections. Probably are they so many to represent all atoms of the universe.

But they will never suffice to represent infinity. Therefore, I can not visualize infinity, but nevertheless, I can understand and describe infinity.

Conclusion:  The idea or the concept of infinity can be deposited in this neural network only as a super character. A super character is similar to a name. This Super character is a representative of the idea of infinity.

This assumption has the effect that there must be someone who understands the meaning of this super character. It could be a neuron in the higher layers of my brain. This neuron is responsible for the idea of infinity.

Whenever this neuron is activated, I get the idea of infinity loaded into my consciousness.

If each neuron is responsible for another idea, then my consciousness can not be represented by a particular neuron, which has also not yet been found by science. The process of actual understanding of infinity in my mind can not take place in my body. The instance of understanding can not be in my body. My consciousness is not part of my body.

Why do I understand continuity?

The same reasoning applies to my understanding of continuity and the pixel-free visualization of my field of vision. My photoreceptors provide only a rasterized image of the environment which is altered every few milliseconds abruptly.

Seeing is a process in body of activating individual pixels and providing a sequence of discrete images.

The gaps between the individual grid points and between the images can not be smoothed be my material brain. This task can only be done by an understanding mind, a spiritual entity.

The signals from my photoreceptors are like all other signals form receptors, they are forwarded to many neurons that all might forward under certain conditions a signal to other neurons.

Ultimately the signals land in the uppermost layers of the brain, where the summary of the current signals relates to. These uppermost aktivated neurons are representing the meaning of the moment. Now this meaning is reported to my consciousness entity. Now I realize the meaning of the moment.

Who or what builds my experience of a complete picture, which changes continuously in my mind? I experience no gaps between the different images. My material brain made of discrete, finite components can not produce these completeness of my experience. If we consider them like the materialists do.

Only a non-material spiritual being has the ability to understand the meaning of the discrete raw data of my senses, which are ever-changing abruptly. Only a spiritual Entity could have the ability to overload my consciousness with this pixel-free and continuous visualization of my environment.

The Problem

My consciousness can not be displayed through my body by the laws of physics or any logic system between my neurons. The examples of infinity and continuity prove it.

The fact that our consciousness can not be localized in the brain so far is at least a strong indication that it is not there. The evidence is so strong because science can today observe individual neurons during their work. But they do not understand their language.

We need a better model of human being.
